MY STORY
Growing up, my plan was to live and work in the heart of Minneapolis. As a successful attorney, I was going to work on the top floor of a sky rise with a corner office. No plans of having a husband or children, just committed to my work.
Well, THAT is not my story... and I will forever be grateful that it isn’t! Never would I have dreamt that the farming life would bring me such happiness, an enormous sense of pride and satisfaction, and teach me the true definition of hard work, integrity, friendship, what it means to be humble and the power of a handshake.
There is no other place on earth that I would rather call home and my work and playground than right in the middle of rural America on a farm!
In December 2016, I was appointed as a Wisconsin Director on the United Soybean Board by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack. In December of 2019, I was reappointed for a second term, but have since termed-out. I felt privileged to be able to support the U.S. soybean farmers maximize their profit opportunities by investing and leveraging soybean checkoff resources.
I also volunteered with CommonGround, which is a group of farmers having conversations about the food we grow and how we produce it. We shared our personal experiences, as well as science and research, to help consumers sort through the myths and misinformation surrounding food and farming.
Lastly, I am very honored to be a contributing member of my husband's 5th generation family farm. We grow corn and soybeans and have a finish hog operation. Brad and I have five children, and are very close to being empty nesters! Oh… and I mustn’t forget our beloved farm dog and almighty protector “Mack” and his little sister “Minnie”.
ABOUT POLAGRI INSURANCE
In 2010 I started in the crop insurance industry, and in 2015 PolAgri Insurance sprouted! We offer Multi-Peril, Crop Hail, Rain Insurance, and Dairy and Livestock Insurance Products. With these products being federally subsidized, therefore the same price no matter which agent you work with, I pride myself on the service and knowledge that I can provide any farmer, customer or not.
The crop insurance industry has given me much more than just a career. I have found myself submerged in an entire culture. It has even taken me overseas to the Middle East to work with their Ministries of Agriculture to assist in the development of a crop insurance program for the farmers of that land as well.
I am forever grateful for my experiences and relationships with so many farm families and industry folks.

UNITED SOYBEAN BOARD
Wisconsin Director
In December 2016, I was appointed as Wisconsin Director on the United Soybean Board by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack. I have since termed-out.
I felt privileged to be able to support the U.S. soybean farmers by maximizing profit opportunities by investing and leveraging soybean checkoff resources.
In the spring of 2019, I also became a member of the Soy Aquaculture Alliance Board. Our focus there was to drive demand for U.S. soy to be the main protein source for the fish species.
COMMON GROUND
Volunteer
I volunteered with CommonGround, which is a group of farmers having conversations about the food we grow and how we produce it.
We shared our personal experiences, as well as science and research, to help consumers sort through the myths and misinformation surrounding food and farming.
CommonGround was developed by farmers through two of our national checkoffs, the United Soybean Board (USB) and the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA).
